Each year, funds raised by the Race for Autism help to support autism programs and new initiatives in our community. Together, we have supported over 84 major initiatives, increasing the learning, social, training and employment opportunities for those with autism in San Diego.

$10 Tickets - Sensory Friendly "Nutcracker"

We’re so excited for tomorrow’s autism-friendly performance of The Nutcracker by the California Ballet Company! The autism/sensory-friendly performance is adapted for people with a wide variety of sensory, intellectual, or developmental disabilities so that they may enjoy the performance with their families in a supportive, welcoming and save environment.

What to expect:
The staff at the Civic Theatre are doing their best to make tomorrow’s performance a wonderful experience for everyone! They are happy to assist you so please don’t hesitate to ask if you need assistance!
Relaxed theater rules:
Guests are free to leave their seats and move freely during the performance.
Space throughout the theater has been allocated for standing and movement.
There will be two small quiet areas in the dress circle (second floor) on the lobby- one on the each side of the space. They will be labeled and sanctioned off and labeled and will have a few little sensory-friendly toys available.
Throughout the performance - Lights will remain on at a low level and sound levels will be lower.
Only bottled water is allowed in the theater.
