In December, NFAR awarded funding to UCSD Institute for Neural Computation and Research for Autism and Development Laboratory for a Driving simulator practice program for teens on the autism spectrum. The program is now accepting its first round applications.
Driving is a complex task that requires fluid integration of skills to respond to a dynamic environment. The study participants will be assessed on their driving skills such as attention orienting, motor skill, and visuomotor integration.
