NFAR's Grant application process is going on-line!

Beginning May 27, 2014, the NFAR's Autism Teachers Grant and Community Project Grant applications period will be on-line. ALL APPLICATIONS are to be submitted electronically

 

Autism Teacher's Grants
2014/ 2015 School Year
Proposals are sought by SAN DIEGO AREA educators for educational tools, specialized curriculum and/or technology that enhance learning for their students with autism. Funding can be used by educators evaluating new teaching tools and methodologies. Funding will be distributed based on the following criteria; Impact; Reach; Immediacy; and Relevance.
APPLICATION DETAILS AND TIMELINE

• Application is for the 2014-2015 school year
• Grant Applications are due by Wednesday SEPTEMBER 10, 2014

• Grant Awards are announced by November 1, 2014 by email
• Awards are $500 and under.
• No more than 3 grants per school
• Grant checks are made out to the School District and mailed directly to Grantee.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES AND RESTRICTIONS
• Applicant should be an educator such as a Teacher, Speech & Language Pathologist, Occupational or Physical Therapist, or Psychologist.
• Funds are to be used for educational programs within the greater San Diego area, Grades Pre-K – Transition and Specialized College Programs.
• Educational programs, materials, and equipment requested must be for the benefit of current students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
• Funds not to be used for basic school supplies.

 

2015 Community Project Grants

Proposals are sought to create or expand programs that increase current level of autism treatment and services to those with autism in the San Diego region and can include pilot studies of treatments; out-reach to underserved populations; research studies to improve treatment and efficacy of treatments; and expansion of existing programs. Funding will be distributed based on the following criteria; Impact; Reach; Immediacy; and Relevance.
APPLICATION DETAILS AND TIMELINE

• Grant Applications are due by SEPTEMBER 16, 2014
• Grant Awards are announced by December 1, 2014 by email
• Awards range between $2,000 and $10,000.
• Grant checks are made out to the Organization, School District or Business.
• Proposed project should be a 3-12 month effort

APPLICATION GUIDELINES AND RESTRICTIONS
• Funds are to be used in the greater San Diego region.
• Open to institutions doing research or running programs directly
• Funds are to be used for autism programs/ research applicable to autism and ASD
• Funds not to be used for general operating/OH costs
• Length of proposal should be from three to no more than 10 pages long (not including CVs)
