February Topic: "Therapies and Counseling for Children and Families with Autism."

Guest Speaker: Danielle Parker, Psy.D. Founder and Clinical Psychologist at Nature and Nurture Therapy
Dr. Parker is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from UCSB, and her Master's and Doctorate Degrees in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. Dr. Parker has specialized in working with children, teens, and families for the past 13 years. She started her career by providing in-home therapy for children with Autism. Then, she provided direct care and therapy to children in residential treatment centers, who were under the care of The Department of Children and Family Services and/or the Juvenile Justice System. After receiving her doctorate degree, Dr. Parker returned to the Autism field by providing psychological evaluations and therapy to children and teens with Autism.
In 2019, she started her own private practice, which has since grown and is now Nature and Nurture Therapy. Currently, Dr. Parker provides individual and family therapy to children, teens, and young adults, as well as parent guidance. She also supervises and trains associate therapists at Nature and Nurture to provide similar services, including social skills groups. Dr. Parker is an active member of the mental health community and works closely alongside school staff, occupational therapists, speech therapists, in-home therapists and psychiatrists to provide the best care for her clients. For 2023, we are asking applicants to submit proposals that incresse the educational, enrichment, vocational training or employment opportunities for individuals with autism in San Diego.
APPLICATION DETAILS AND TIMELINE
• Grant Application Period Opens: January 30, 2023 NEW OPENINE DATE: February 12, 2023
- Grant Applications Due: March 25, 2023
- Grant Awards Announced: by no later than June 1, 2023
- Awards range between $2,500 - $10,000.
- Proposed project should be a 3 – 12 months effort and start in 2023
APPLICATION GUIDELINES AND RESTRICTIONS
• Funds are to be used in the greater San Diego region.
• Open to institutions and non profit organizations that provide direct service.
- Funds are to be used for programs and/or projects that benefit those with autism
- Funds are not to be used for general operating/OH costs
- Length of proposal should be from three to no more than 10 pages long (not including CVs)
- CVs should be condensed to no more than 3 pages long.
