March Topic:  Vocational Training Programs - Panel Discussion!  

What's next after high school or college? How can your son or daughter pursue training in their areas of interest? Come learn about some of the options available in San Diego. We will have a panel of representatives from a variety of different types of programs. 

Guest Speakers:
Tyler Hershey, Director of the Pathfinder Program at Beacons north county
Myles Horttor, Director of Programs at Options for All, including the Film & Media Program, and more
Lenila Batali, Founder D'Vine Path Program

February Topic:  Communication Strategies you can Use!  

Discover communication strategies you can use with your child (of any age) in your daily routines, and in new situations, as every new situation comes with a new set of social expectations. Learn strategies that you can embed into your established routines and new activities that can help to build your loved ones communication skills and social competence.

Guest Speakers:  Sheri Hughes, MA, CCC-SLP, and Renee Tompkins, MS, CCC-SLP -  Poway Unified School District 

Renee and Sheri have each been Speech Language Pathologists for over 20 years.

Renee currently works with young adults and Sheri works with children preschool age through middle school. They share a passion for learning and teaching all things social. Renee and Sheri are both members of the PUSD Special Education Foundation and help both special educators and general education teachers in their understanding of social language issues and implementing social cognitive and Social Thinking strategies for children and adults.

January Topic: Money Managment Tips for Kids (of all ages)

Join us to learn ways to talk to your children about money and ways that you can help them to build those important money management skills. From helpful tips to valuable conversation starters, learn ways that can help them for a lifetime.  Rob will be sharing examples for immediate use, as well as valuable resources for now and in the future.

Guest Speaker:  Rob Gascho CLU®  LUTCF®, Financial Services Professional Agent, New York Life Insurance Company and NFAR Board Member 

Rob Gascho is a Financial Services Professional with New York Life and NYLife Securities.  He helps families and individuals understand and protect their finances in order to focus on their most important goals and dreams.  Rob has lived in San Diego for the past 17 years, and is active in local philanthropy (including NFAR!) To learn more.
