NFAR PARENT'S GROUP
Zoom Virtual Meeting
Wednesday, Apr. 21, 2021
6:30 - 8:00 pm

All Parents and Caregivers welcome! Please join us as we learn from guest speakers and exchange ideas - all from the comfort of your home.

Topic: Promoting Independence

Do you often ask yourself, “I wonder how I can teach my child to do that by him/herself?"

Join us as we discuss strategies on how to promote independence with your child. We will review ideas and generate conversation about how to increase independence during daily routines, play time and while out in the community.

Guest Speakers:  Nancy Thepkulchon MA, BCBA, Regional Clinical Director, and Ashley Barrett, Senior Program Supervisor, Coyne & Associates

Nancy Thepkulchon MA, BCBA, Regional Clinical Director - When I graduated from UCSD with my bachelors in psychology, I still did not know what I wanted to be “when I grew up.” I stumbled into the world of ABA and have now been in the field for almost 15 years. I received my masters degree in Human Behavior from National University and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2011. I enjoy working closely with the families and celebrating all of the new skills a child learns while in our program!

Ashley Barrett, Senior Program Supervisor – Hi everyone! My name is Ashley Barrett. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and have lived all over the place as my father was in the US Navy. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in law from University of California, Santa Cruz. After college my love for working with children sprouted while I taught English in South Korea and grew from there. I began exploring the world of ABA in 2012 and earned my Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology in 2016 followed by my BCBA certification.
